The National Testing Service (NTS) doesn’t explicitly offer a "merit-based" scholarship by name, but this program targets deserving students based on both academic merit and financial need. It’s best described as a need-based scholarship, administered in association with NTS-affiliated universities.
Enrollment: You must be a full-time, regularly enrolled student in an NTS-affiliated university or institution (undergraduate or graduate level). NTS Test Requirement: For undergraduate programs: a passing score on NAT For graduate programs: a passing score on GAT Continuing Students: Already enrolled students must have achieved at least a 2.5 GPA in the preceding semester to remain eligible. Financial Need: Eligibility is also based on the financial status of the applicant’s family, as assessed by the university’s Internal Scholarship Award Committee (UISAC).
1. Secure Admission & NTS Score Ensure you have a valid admission at an NTS-affiliated institution and have cleared the required test (NAT or GAT). 2. Obtain the Scholarship Form Get the application from either: The Financial Aid Office (FAO) of your university Or download it from the NTS website 3. Submit the Application Complete the form and submit it—along with supporting documents—to your university’s FAO or designated office. **Direct applications to NTS aren’t permitted.** 4. Review & Shortlisting by UISAC The university’s Internal Scholarship Award Committee (UISAC) reviews applications, verifies documents, and shortlists candidates. 5. Final Selection by NTS Shortlisted candidates are sent to the NTS Scholarship Management Committee (SMC). Selected awardees then receive instructions to sign a Deed of Agreement (on stamp paper worth Rs. 100, attested) to formalize participation. 6. Funding Disbursement NTS transfers the combined tuition fee and stipend to the university. The university either credits tuition or issues reimbursement and distributes the stipend per semester/month based on academic progress.
